as of now, my teacher recommendation was sent in on October 9, and my application has not been sent in yet. i am sending it this weekend. however, i have not been contacted yet that my rec was received. am i not to be contacted until all my application materials have been received? i just wanted to know, so i can ask my teacher for another rec if necessary.

I wasnt contacted about my recs and I sent them in in October and submitted at the beginning of Novemeber, but I still haven't gotten my fourth email confirmation so Im really questioning whether they put everything together ok

At most colleges, they'll start a file for you when they receive something that goes with your application - whether it's a teacher rec or your actual app.

I'm not familiar with the Univerty of Michigan application system,, but I don't think most colleges will contact you if they've received teacher or counselor recs. If you can track your application online (which, if your school has this, will be available to you after your application has been submitted, and you'll probably get an ID number in return), you'll be able to see whether the other parts of your app have been received/processed or not.

At this point, if you're worried, just call.

There was a thread this morning about the same thing.

My response:
[QUOTE]
Supporting documents that arrive before an application are put in a miscellaneous credentials file. When an application arrives, a staffer goes through the file to look for anything that may have arrived early.

We don't start a file for every paper that comes to us. As you all can imagine, some people send us score reports by accident (by copying the wrong school code) and some send recs to all their schools, then get in early somewhere and don't apply anywhere during RD.

I'm in the same situation...U of M rec sent in about a week ago, haven't sent in application materials yet...but I wouldn't be too worried about it if I were you
