Hello all, I currently attend Oakland University studying general business and I am wondering what my chances are of getting into the University of Michigan as a transfer student applying as a Sports Management Major or an Economics major. My current GPA is a 3.92 across 28 transferable credits. I will have 40 transferable credits after the end of the fall semester and I intend on applying after those credits are complete. My intended semester of enrollment is Summer/Spring of 2018. My GPA in a private High School is average (2.95) which is why I am waiting until I have 40 credits to apply. I screwed up my freshman year of high school dramatically, and I know its better to improve your GPA rather than to regress.
Classes:
Winter 2017:
Writing 150
Spanish
Music
Summer:
Writing 160
Pre-Calc
Group Dynamics and Communications 202
Writing 382
GPA: 3.92
Credits:28
Fall:
Economics
Calculus
???
GPA: ??? 3.9
Credits: 40
Assuming I maintain my GPA into the fall semester and have a killer application what are my chances? Also any suggestions for another class to take in the fall? I know Michigan likes to see a variety of different subjects (natural science, humanities, social science, ect).
One more question as well. I had a withdrawal in my first semester due to being enrolled in the wrong economics class in my Winter Semester, and it shows on my transcript. I know it is not ideal to have any W’s but considering I have only one W (and only will have one) by the time I apply will it affect UofM’s decision dramatically?
