University of Michigan Transfer- Winter 2020

From what I can tell, it’s not a “wave” of acceptances like EA or RD for freshman applicants. It’s more “rolling” acceptances from what I gather from last year’s 2019 Winter Transfer thread.

The dates of students that posted acceptances here on CC ranged from as early as 11/05/18 to 11/22/18 (Thanksgiving Day). So, if it were me, then I’d use that as your guide. I’m not an AO, but I’d like to think they would give you all notice before Thanksgiving.

It’s definitely needs to be before December, otherwise how could you plan travel for orientation?

For LSA, the orientation dates for Winter 2020 transfers are:

December 12, 2019
December 13, 2019
December 16, 2019
December 17, 2019
January 6-7, 2020

You could attend your orientation a day or two before school starts on Wednesday, January 9, 2020. In theory of course.

Hi, so I talked to the transfer rep today. He talked with the admissions and they told him that we should start hearing by nov 1! They want to try to get them out asap this year so we can know to prepare for the next semester.

Its so weird because the threads from last two years transfer came out about now and there were people at this time who even heard back

also, registration begins early November for the winter term.

nobody heard anything today?

Will our decisions be on wolverine access or on enrollment connect?

@stitch12345 you will get an email when a decision is ready saying “status update” and it will be on enrollment connect

@leejackie99 How do you know? did you get your update already?

No I looked it up and an FAQ showed up regarding that question

Do you guys think anyone will hear back in October?

Hopefully. Does anybody have any updates?

anybody hear back?

I called today and was told that my application is under review. How shortly after the review process starts do people typically get decisions?

When I called a while back they said 4-6 weeks I think. I would at least assume that most peoples have to be under review by now.

@transfer2000 who did you call to ask? your admissions counselor?

Hello everyone, I’m currently a first year Economics student at the University of Toledo. I was originally deferred during the Early Action period for Fall 2019, then eventually denied. UMich is my dream school and I would like to transfer there. Here are some of my credentials:
College GPA (Estimated): 3.8-3.9ish
High School GPA: 3.95
SAT: 1280
Decent amount of extracurricular, also in Financial Management Association at Toledo.
Pretty good at writing essays
At the time of my Fall 2020 application in February, I will have 16 transferrable credits and be in the process of earning 16 more. Should I wait until I have fully completed my first year, or would I still have a good shot at being accepted? Also, should I retake the SAT since they do consider that? I am fairly confident I can get at least a 1350. Any feedback would be appreciated!

I called the admissions office @leejackie99

Wow I am surprised that nobody has heard back yet…
