University of Michigan Waitlist 2024

That is not fair right?

Well it is not fair, but what can we do :frowning:

They rather give money to people who rejected them already rather than taking people who are paying full tuition off the waitlist (base on my understanding, prolly wrong)

true that

This all speaks to the extraordinary times.

Rip my grammar

Anyway, the most we can do rn is wait, and hope for the best ??

a lot of the college admissions process in unfair. it is what it is and we have to deal with it. hoping for the best though

Well all we can do is keep praying, and let’s hope that we all get off haha.

my personal college counselor told me that umich can ask people to come to the school even during the first week of school. so they could ask us a day before school starts to come to the school.

@katebee1 over the last 3/4 years that I have following Michigan and have been on CC I have seen a few in July accepted. Nothing in August but I am sure maybe a few happen. I would say if your not hearing anything in June or mid July then it’s most likely not happening.

@katebee1 my AO at UMich said that waitlist activity will be over by late June, so I think it’s unlikely that anyone will get off the waitlist after that.

Accepted in April (OOS) and paid deposit while waiting for decisions from other universities. Got into top choice and filled out the application withdrawal form for U Mich today. Good luck to those who are waitlisted!

Waitlist activity usually ends by June 30.

I have a draft of a letter of continued interest but I don’t know if it’s worth it at this point to send. I just want them to know that I would 100% go if admitted but I know they don’t want us to send stuff anymore. What should I do?

I mean you can give it a try but I don’t think annoying your ao would be good :frowning:

If there’s any significant update you can maybe try, like getting an award or something.

I think this year is so different than other years. You can’t really judge from the time lines of other years.

It’s really weird how they’re still asking people that rejected their offer to accept. I find it really odd how they aren’t going to the waitlist. I think Michigan just does not want to at all.

Talked to Umich undergrad admissions, and they said they’ll be releasing their waitlist decisions starting the beginning of June to Mid-June. Stay alert for any updates that might come during that time…

Finger crossed !

@lash66 I totally get you! I sent an email a few weeks ago with some updates and restated my continued interest to my ao. However, she replied that they are not accepting anymore updates :(( If you really want to, you can definitely still call them and ask if they are still accepting updates and letters of continued interest before you send it.
