University of Minnesota Fall 2015 Transfer thread

Hi guys,

I looked around and saw a bunch of transfer threads, so I thought why not make 1 giant thread where we can discuss things as a group.

I just received my acceptance today, I applied on March 10th, my status changed from “We have received all your materials” to “We are carefully considering your application” on the 18th, and my acceptance was posted about an hour ago (midnight). I’m planning on majoring in BME btw. Any other BME’rs?

I applied on 20th Feb,still waiting for my decision

Have you guys heard anything yet? My application for CSE is still “We have forwarded your application…”. I am still waiting for my decision although it has been more than 1 month. I emailed them, and they said the decision would be sent no later than the end of March…

Hi folks,

Applied first in early January as a physics major (CSE) but denied due to prerequisite requirements. HOWEVER, I ended up switching my major to economics anyway, so I applied to CLA in mid-march and got waitlisted in about 3 days. I have very mixed feelings about how things are going to turn out.

Hello everyone!

My application tracker shows the same thing which is “We have forwarded…” I sent my application at the end of February and haven’t heard anything yet.

Hey guys,

I haven’t submitted my application yet because I can’t get past these brief essays. This is BRIEF. Like boxers. Did anyone else have difficulty summing themselves up in 600 characters? I feel like I am being too abrupt, not even skimming the surface. :-S

Update: I submitted my application earlier this week, I don’t have a way to check my application status? Did they give you a login in an email or something?
Also, does anyone know how long they take to make a decision?

Hey guys does anyone read this LOL.
Anyway anyone who is wondering, like I said I submitted my app earlier this week and phoned today to ask when I will get a decision. Someone phoned me back at 5 p.m. looking at my application and said there is no way I won’t be accepted and I should receive my acceptance letter in 2 weeks. I never even got to “check my status.” So maybe phoning speeds up the process (rapidly)? Good luck to everyone who reads this!

Also I am transferring from a CC in Texas.

For non transfer students there was a letter that came in the mail with the student ID number on it and from that you could set up a password. If I recall it is easy to miss this info as it almost seemed hidden in the letter. Good luck!

I got a rejection from CSE, but instead got admitted to CLA for Computer Science through information on my tracker. I wonder when the deadline of the enrollment confirmation will be in my case since I was accepted after May 1st.

Applied 3 weeks ago to CFANS for applied economics and got notified today that I’m in!

Congrats @nicaraguan8921 !

I just got accepted to the CLA after being on the wait list since February.

I applied as an international transfer on April 24 and my application was completed around mid May. However my app tracker was not updated for a long time and after multiple emails to UMN, an international admissions rep replied last week saying that all my materials had been received and that my application was complete. When I checked my tracker though, the message was “We have recently received new information from you and are reviewing your application to determine if it is complete.” It has been this way for a week now… Is that normal? Does anyone know the approx. date by which I may receive a proper decision from the university?

Hello everyone! I was accepted to the College of Science and Engineering (CSE) for Actuarial Mathematics, and one course required is ACCT 2050; however, CSE does not offer this course. So, I was hoping that I can register for ACCT 2050 through Carlson (CSOM). In particular, considering that UMN-TC is ranked 5th in the nation for Applied Mathematics (and 17th overall), I think the U should offer their best undergraduates the best classes available; in other words, I think I should be able to register for the aforementioned course through CSOM. What are your guys’ thoughts? Is this the case?
