University Of Mississippi

Daughter loves Ole Miss. We are out of state. GPA weighted 5.14, unweighted 4.0, honors/dual enrollment courses. Poor test taker, ACT 23 after multiple tests, SAT 1200. Concerned about merit opportunities. Anyone know if it is possible to get good merit?

They are very transparent. Look at their merit scholarships on their website. Your answer is there.

Looks like a token $1,500/yr.

Has your daughter thought about looking at test optional schools? Check fairtest.org. It lists the growing number of colleges that no longer require tests for admission.

Some DO require the tests for merit aid, but not all.

Some have an alternate submission like an extra essay.

Worth checking.

What is your budget?
Merit is largely based on ACT/SAT scores

OOS COA is over $40k per year…and increasing each year. If that’s not affordable, take it off the table now.

If your daughter is also interested in greeklife, that can easily be an additional $5 k per year.

Thanks
