WE ARE THINKING OF MOVING TO NC. hOW IS THE college TOWARDS GAY STUDENTS.
I AM CONCERNED I DONT WANT TO PUT MY CHILD IN A HOSTILE ENVIROMENT. wHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS AND SUGGESTIONS.From what Ive read it seems ok, is any area better than another any feedback will help.
Thanks

UNC Chapel Hill is the friendliest UNC school for LGBT students. UNC Greensboro and UNC Asheville also have fairly vibrant LGBT communities.

I’ve always had the impression that UNCW had a good if small LGBT community, and I don’t think hostility would be an issue. As always, however, by far the best resource is the school itself. I suggest that your child get in touch with the LGBTQIA coordinator at UNCW, as she’ll be able to give much more detailed information.
