University of New Hampshire

Hi, I posted this on the college selection board/ but thought I would try here as well. Thank You
Wondering if anyone has thoughts on computer engineering at UNH. I know it is not a top tier, but we have heard wonderful things on the computer engineering program. We are comparing it other acceptances at Bowdoin, Colby, Clarkson, and UVM. Thank You.

I'm an alumni, EE graduate and working engineer.

Computer Engineering? Why mention Bodwin or Colby, they don't offer it in the first place unless it some 3yr - 2yr program at another school.

UVM UNH are same 2nd tier rank (51-100). Now for engineering, UNH does have a new engineering building (well new relative to me) it maybe 8-10 yrs old. So the facilities are good. UVM engineering I don't hear much about, I never would consider it higher than UNH.

Man, tough to reply when you can't see the original posting.

Clarkson is a good engineering school. I probably would put it over UNH a bit. It's not as good as RPI or WPI though.

The University of New Hampshire is underrated when it comes to the sciences. I don't believe U of Vermont is as strong as UNH. UNH is overshadowed by the larger public colleges in New England; U of Massachusetts-Amherst and U of Connecticut. UNH's high tution costs for non-residents also inhibits its notoriety. But it is know as a college with rigorous academics. No cakewalk.
