University of Notre Dame Regular Decision 2022

Denied. 1400 SAT and 4.0 W GPA, uncle and grandfather attended. Not terribly surprised as my GPA is not that high. Fortunately I got admitted to UVA and will probably be attending there!

Accepted (OOS male)
Major: Biological Sciences
35 ACT
4.6 GPA
800 Math II
740 Bio E
No legacy

My son got denied today! Totally bummed! SATs were 1520 (780 Math and 740 Reading), 4.57 weighted. 3,99 unweighted average top 5% of class. Many APs, Project Lead the Way High School Engineering 4 year curriculum, lots of ECs- Varsity Baseball Co-Captain, FBLA State winner in MIS in 2017 in PA and Regional Winner in 2018 in Management Decision Making, Robotics CLub- States last year, 140 community service hours. Just goes to show you never know! Has gotten in to Boston College, Villanova and Pitt, Waiting on some more. But ND was in his heart! Can’t beleive they didn’t even wait list him.

S accepted. 1510 (790 math/720 English), 1/210 in class. This experience has been insane. There is no rhyme or reason. Our house never even spoke of getting into ND. Just seemed like a dream. Now, S is floating amongst the clouds!!! Accepted: BC, Pepperdine, Fordham, Case W.R. WL: Williams. Pending: Dartmouth, Vanderbilt, Middlebury, USC, Georgetown. Good luck to all!

Hi, Congrats to all accepted students and their parents!
Can anyone shed some light on Glynn Honors Program? DS got an email inviting him to apply. What are the advantages/disadvantages? Any information would be helpful…

@Monomin, here’s a thread about it. http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-notre-dame/2056327-glynn-honors-program-p1.html

I’m just curious does Notre Dame ever let students appeal their decisions?

@yellowgreenred ND will likely advise you to pursue a transfer in response to an appeal.

Any idea when Financial Aid letters will be available?

Does anyone know if there’s any official Facebook page or groupchat for Class of '22 yet?

For those interested, this year ND received 20,370 applications for freshman admission. (Per update on ND Admissions website.)

= approx. 18.2% admission rate 2018 (total, REA + RD)?

I have an answer to the “when will Financial Aid be available?” - I just spoke to the FA office. The aid letters are rolling out as they are completed. The student will receive an email and a packet will be sent to the mailing address. So, anytime now you should hear from them.

Just received Financial Aid email…

Very disappointed with financial aid. I can’t afford 40k…

I haven’t received FA email yet, but to those who have, how close is it to the estimate given by the calculator?

@MEC1026 not even close really. I was really hoping for a lot more. Just glad to say I got admitted!!! Can’t win them all

@cj12345 sorry, but may I ask what your efc was? I’m kinda stressing waiting for mine to come in /:

Notre Dame gave me enough aid to attend!!! It’s going to be a cheaper option than the UC system! It’s looking likely that I’ll go

@pamelaaaa41 Our EFC was around 30,000, which we still couldn’t afford. But they expect us to pay 40k! We were hoping the calculator overestimated costs. I am so disgusted and infuriated with Notre Dame right now. My parents do well, but not 40k/year well. But it feels like they are being punished for working hard and being financially stable. I really just want the financial aid people to realize how they rake people through the coals.
By the way, on the first FAFSA I submitted, the assets reported were accidentally wayyyy too high. I resubmitted in mid-February, but I emailed the financial office to be sure they used the revised one. If they did, then I am SOL. One thing this college admissions process has taught me is tht money is the root all evil. I hope everybody else doesn’t get put through the wringer.
