University of Oregon. Stressed!

<p>Hello everyone!
I would first like to thank you all for taking the time to read this! I tried to make this as legible and easy to read as possible. :)</p>

<p>DESCRIPTION:
I am an asian going into 12th grade and attend a high school that has a 300+ ranking. I had a rough past behind me but now, I finally realize the importance of grades. I am 100% willing to put the work and effort into what I do.
I am looking forward to applying to the University of Oregon, majoring in Economics, where my 2nd year sibling is attending school. </p>

<p>GRADES:
My grades have not been the best, hitting D's and C's in my AP courses this year. My other courses average out to a C to B range. From my 9th grade to 11th grade, my marks have been heading in a downward trend. My average GPA right now is around a 2.3.
This year, I went to summer school to makeup the only 2 courses that I had received an F in. One course (H. Algebra 2) in 10th grade and another (H. PreCalc) in 11th grade. The following are my grades:</p>

<pre><code> ~ Honors Precalc grade: Semester 1 --- F
Semester 2 --- D-
(Made up 1 semester and received a B-)

   ~ Honors Algebra 2 grade: Semester 1 --- D
                                          Semester 2 --- F
(Made up 1 semester and received an A-)

</code></pre>

<p>QUESTION - I still have a D in 1 semester of both courses. Will the summer school grades average out with the existing grades?</p>

<p>EXPERIENCE:
- Had job grading papers at a local tutoring area and have worked there every Saturday for 4 hours for 2 years. -
- I am currently studying for my Series 7 (I am trying to get past the 18+ age restriction for taking the test) and have a CCNA certificate.
- Won local DECA awards, went to nationals and barley made it to international DECA.
- Ran an on-campus business and gained substantial amounts of profit.
- Knows several programming languages (Java/Python/C++)
- Went to YEBW (Young Entrepreneurs Business Week) and was recognized in OSU.
- Extracurriculars: Competitive judo for a year, tennis lessons for 2 years</p>

<p>SAT/ACT:
My PSAT score was 135 and I haven't taken my ACT, but I predict it is around a 25. I looked at the alternative admissions chart and (<a href="http://admissions.uoregon.edu/apply/gpachart.htm"&gt;http://admissions.uoregon.edu/apply/gpachart.htm&lt;/a&gt;) and am a bit confused on my scores.
At a 2.33, I have to score a 1,250 on my SAT and 28 on my ACT. </p>

<p>QUESTION - I did some research on alternative admissions and apparently alternative admissions (haha alliteration) are just another way of giving a comprehensive reading of your app. Can someone verify this?</p>

<p>In the near future of my senior year, I am taking an economics course and plan to do very well in all my courses, allowing me to have an upward trend in my GPA. And lastly... What are my chances?</p>

<p>Thank you so much for making it this far. I am very ecstatic for an answer so if you have any type of input, please do comment!
P.S. If you want my full transcript for a better view of things, please feel free to ask.</p>

<p>Are you in-state? Do you have an opportunity to do some test prep before you take the ACT? Testing strategy can help you raise your scores, and be sure to take some full length practice tests if you can before the real test. They’re is a high chance they will ask for your 7th semester grades so be sure you do really well this year. My older son is starting his second year at UO and they did request his 7th semester grades when he applied. That could help you if you do well. Good luck! I hope it works out for you, it’s a great school. </p>
