**University of Pennsylvania Fall 2017 Transfer Thread**

This thread is so dead :frowning:

Does anyone know whether previously applying is considered? And if so does it help or hurt? I applied as a senior (ED) and was deferred and then rejected.

I kinda want them to see that and notice how much I think its a good fit. Idk

I recently was accepted to two pretty prestigious internships. The first is with a large, national bank (think Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, etc), and the second is with a technology venture capital firm. Should I email Penn, updating them on my summer plans? Will it help my application or will it just be unnecessary?

@tnufas I was thinking the saem thing, but at this point emailing about anything not grade related is just gonna seem deperate and most likely not help :confused:

@VaishS yes that makes sense. If I email them about updates in my grades, should I mention new leadership positions as well?

@tnufas Honestly there is no definitive answer to that. It isn’t good or bad. If you are emailing them anyways about like midterm grades /taking a class Pass/Fail /adding or dropping a class or something then I would maybe sneak in a couple more sentences about the extracurricular stuff. But this reallyyyyy is your call and what you think will help or hurt your app. Hope that helps a little. :slight_smile:

does anyone still have stuff on the checklist not checked off ie college report?

@johnpfc3

My college report was checked off March 21st. Everything else was checked earlier.

@VaishS, you don’t want to be a physician in a short way and persistently pursue your dream school Penn. Are you appliying for CAS or LSM which you applied for last year (I might be wrong in the details)? GL

@J2H239 Hey!! I am not applying to LSM, becuase as a transfer you aren’t eligible for coordinated dual degrees. I applied to CAS for bio. However, I am still interested in the LSM idea so I would try my best to purse an uncoordinated dual degree option, if possible, if I were accepted! Thank you!
How is your son doing? :slight_smile:

@VaishS, fantastic LSM which is difficult (if not impossible) to find somewhere else for hardworking and ambitious kids. Penn will provide unimaginable opportunities/resources for your success in there and beyond… GL

@johnpfc3 yeah mines not checked off either…and I’m sure my school sent it in

heyyyyy
did you guys receive any notification after checking off all the items on the online portal?
I completed the checklist couple weeks ago… but now suddenly feel anxious about missing any other materials that are not shown on the list…
Thanks in advance:))

@chuchu616

I did not get an email.
