**University of Pennsylvania Fall 2017 Transfer Thread**

Hey guys, how bad is it to not get an interview?

I thought my app. was pretty strong and I have KWH support.

@inordie I’d like to know this as well! Especially since it’d be two different years. I know its harder for junior transfer though.
@NotAMathlete I don’t think its too bad, I have a friend who got into Wharton but didn’t get an interview. I think it might depend on your location as well.

Also, how strict is UPenn when it comes down to course requirements? I’ve taken 2 physics instead of chemistry, and I feel like they will flat out reject me even b4 looking at my application because of that. On the other hand, I’ve heard several students in Penn engineering who were able to transfer there without taking a course or two from the required list. Anyone with a reliable info?

Hello everyone! I found this thread a few days ago, but barely made time to sign up for the site. Here are my stats:

Applied to Wharton to major in Accounting and hopefully minor in Business Ethics and Legal Studies
First-generation, Mexican-American student
Currently a sophomore at a community college in Southern California
GPA: 3.95 (Hopefully going up a bit since I have all A’s this semester)
Extracurriculars:
-I am leading a group of students and working with my college’s transfer center to put together requirements to transfer to Ivy League schools.
-I am part of a program with USC of about 15 students from my college to not only get noticed by the USC Levanthal School of Accounting, but also help people understand how different the lives of first-generation, community college students are.

High school:
GPA: 3.66
SAT: 1720 (I know, low)
ACT: 25 (That’s low, too)
APs: Took a total of 5 (APUSH, English Lang, Bio, Environmental, Spanish Lang), got a 5 in Spanish Lang

Essay and writing supplement: I know I poured my heart and soul in it. I talked about my love for accounting, my desire to become a mentor for community college students, inspire other students at my community college to aim for higher goals, and my 10-week program with Harvard’s Business School called HBX cORE

3 more days! I’m so nervous!

Haha wait you guys had to do interviews for transfer apps now. Sucks to be you guys

I was never contacted for an interview the year I was accepted (2 cycles ago)

Also there were only 13 Wharton matriculants the year I transferred.

3 days 4 hours 57 minutes 30 seconds

@VaishS but who’s counting?!? LOL
