Thanks mods
@skieurope I appreciate the clarification.
Back to the original topic. Has anyone else received an email from penn about notification date besides other person whose post was deleted and I can no longer find?
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
You can’t find it, because I deleted it. If someone answers in the affirmative, and that was their only post, and they joined this site today, and nobody else received an email on the topic, I work under the assumption that the user lives under a bridge. You should too.
Thanks, @skieurope, we transfer applicants are very vulnerable right now and if we see something like that post, it piques our interest and it’s hard to ignore.
Man, the transfer threads are way wilder than last year.
“We do not have an exact date as of yet, decisions will be sometime in May. You will be receiving an email with the exact date soon.” – Penn Admissions
ambiguous as usual.
@longwaydriver thanks for the update!
Chance me!
Hello, I am a sophomore and I applied to Penn for transfer in Fall 2018 as a PPE Major. I have a weird story, I applied to a bunch of schools for transfer last year (including Penn), but only got into Cornell which was my last choice. I ended up transferring to Cornell, but I really disliked it because I was not a huge fan of Ithaca and I did not like the culture. I decided I wanted to try to transfer again.
College GPA: 4.12 Cornell GPA with 4.07 midterm GPA. 3.96 freshman GPA at Top 100 school I transferred from
SAT I: 2250 superscore (740 CR, 740 Math, 770 Writing)
SAT II: 650 Lit, 760 World History, 740 US History
Unweighted High School GPA (out of 4.0): 3.4 or 3.5 unweighted, 4.0 weighted
HS Rank: unknown, prob close to top 10%
AP:
- US (5)
- English Lang (5)
- World (4)
- Microeconomics (4)
- Macroeconomics (5)
- Gov (5)
HS awards were AP Scholar with Honor (2015), AP Scholar with Distinction (2016), National Merit Commended Student, and a bunch of awards from my HS for getting the highest grades in a special gifted and talented class, as well as in AP Gov.

If it’s of any help, the notification of the release date for decisions was April 25th last year, with the decisions coming out May 2nd. So you guys should have about a week’s notice. Also, if anyone here has any questions about transferring to SEAS please feel free to shoot me a message.
@rosen1999 I’m applying to the college, planning to major in cognitive science, concentrating in computational neuroscience. I’m from the northeast but I’m going to school in the Midwest currently.
@Neurophile thanks for that.
Is there anyone on this thread who goes to school in Connecticut, specifically UCONN? Also a general question about AP college courses, my school does not offer any APs, however, I am taking a senior level economics course as a freshman. Does anyone know how these relate, would a senior level course look as rigorous as an AP level freshmen course? Thanks.
any other military veterans waiting here?
@AFvet323 Hey! USMC guy here, saw your post on the Princeton thread as well. Nice to see more vets applying!
@Neurophile I’m in the exact same situation you are (minus the major). I’m currently at Purdue University. What about you?
Marine as well. I check these threads daily but this is the first I’ve posted. Good luck to everyone! You guys all have me stressed out lol.
@FinanceMarine Good luck to you, as well and thank you for your service! I’m assuming by your name, you applied to Wharton?
@mattmckenney7 yes, I’m trying to get into Business Analytics, Finance, or Statistics at Wharton. Did you apply to Wharton as well?
@FinanceMarine I did! I applied to Management, Finance, or Marketing. I currently go to Purdue’s Honors College in Indiana, but I live about two hours from Penn.
