Is there any kind of indication on the Penn Applicant Portal that your application has been sent to the admissions committee for review? Or is it safe to assume it has been if all the boxes are checked off? Thanks!
If everything aligns with previous years we should be hearing from Penn today that we will get our decisions in a week (May 1st), correct? Have they ever sent out notifications later than that? If we don’t get them today should we expect, like other people have said, that the decisions will come out mid-May?
Well considering that Penn’s Admission staff said in the transfer admission session a couple of months ago that the decisions would not be released until mid-May in order to coincide with other schools’ decision periods, it is highly unlikely.
Last year, Penn admissions sent out an email on April 25th saying that decisions would release May 2. Until we receive an email, I don’t think we can speculate about release dates; I’m sure Penn will tell us about a week in advance like they did last year.
It looks like we won’t get back the results next Tuesday since no email today…
Does Penn waitlist any prospective transfer students?
@Neurophile Thank you so much for the response. I wish you the absolute best of luck this year! I have read many of your posts on the 2017 thread. Which school did you apply to and where are you from? I applied to Wharton, it would be really cool if we could meet up next year!
Yes does anyone know this?
The decision announcement date should be between May 1 to 4 based on the Penn website.

@Neogotmyback I interpret the calendar item from your link (and thanks for sharing!) to mean that actual decisions will be released between the 1st and 4th … am I missing something?
@betwixt I thought so too based on the calendar and last year but one person said that decisions are coming in mid-may based on an info session, and we haven’t received an email yet.
True @und888 … I just had not been aware that there is a date to be notified of actual decisions … the wording didn’t suggest that … I also have to look into how much time is typically allowed to commit … the calendar shows a maximum of 2-3 weeks IF decisions are released at the beginning of next week. If as has been mentioned, the purpose is to allow time to review FA, any less time would be tight…
Back in December 2016 for early decision freshman admissions, the email that notified the date of the decision was sent only 4 days before the decision date. It was sent on December 5th and decisions came out December 9th.
@Neogotmyback here’s hoping!
@betwixt Yes, I mean the actual decision.
I‘d rather believe that the decisions won’t come out until mid-May based on the message from info session and the fact that we didn’t receive the email yet. but tbh I am really tired of waiting now, especially with so many schools behind schedule this year.

The specifics are unimportant. It started with a post that was a little too snarky, and escalated from there. Posts that referenced the original deleted post were also deleted as they made no sense out of context. Unless you got a warning from me, don’t spend time wondering if you were the culprit.
I have deleted several more posts referencing my deletions/wondering what the deleted posts said. Carry on and good luck.
