**University of Pennsylvania Fall 2018 Transfer Thread**

I still think the results would most likely come out in mid-May since late-May isn’t consistent with other schools either.

Well, at the transfer info session, they also said that they receive about 3000 applications, so it’s pribsbly in that range. If they can review close to 40000 in the regular admissions cycle, 3000 should take a week!

3,000, really? I thought it was around a 2,000 applicant pool

The transfer info session representative said ‘about’ 3000, so it could be in the 2000 range, close to the upper limits, who knows?!

3000 applicants would not surprise me. Last year was the largest applicant pool for both first year and transfer admissions, and the 1st time that transfer admissions had a lower acceptance rate than freshmen admits. This year the freshmen applicant pool was once again the largest in Penn’s history, a trend I expect to continue with transfer admissions. I would not be surprised to see an acceptance rate in the 5-6% rate.

Traditionally UPenn has released transfer decisions on the first Tuesday of May (today). I hope we don’t have to wait longer but I think a larger applicant pool would push that date back.

Last year I got an email at 5pm EST a week before decision date saying decision will be posted on May 2nd. Since we didn’t get anything from Penn today, I’m assuming we aren’t hearing back until the 15th?

But on the schedule, it said that decisions will be released between May1-4

That schedule seems to be outdated, I’m sure they planned to release it this week but never updated it when they decided they would take longer.

Columbia decisions are out on 4th-might be synced

Why does it have to be our year that decisions are pushed way later):

@Rob3223 They want to include financial package in the acceptance letter like other schools.

where did you get this info from? or did you just make it up.

I hope it’s the 4th!

@johonmilla Today at 2:56 am “I hope it’s the 4th”

I found that funny for some reason.

Has anyone received any updates from the admissions office?

@krystalee i’ve been checking my email every 5 min! So far nothing :frowning:

We have any idea when they coming out?

"Hello XXX,

Yes, transfer applicants will receive an email prior to the decision release date, with a date that decisions will be released.

Sincerely,
Penn Admissions"
