theworld8905...I dont know what to do...with my stats I feel that ED may not be an option if it is going to be filled eith the best people with the highest stats.

why would I want to convince people to apply RD? I just want to find the best option for me.

I am going to wait and see what I am going to do after i go on a tour/ infomation session.

Now that this is clearly been said by former adcom. You guys didn't believe my claim that I made earlier about how applying RD increases your chances. Go ahead and apply ED. Your loss.

But still isn't it just a theory that applying RD somehow increase your chances due to the less competitive nature of the RD pool, but all the adcoms and college counselors still strongly recommend ED for number one choice school... if that theory is true, wouldn't they know about it? And plus wouldn't your college counselor want you to do your best, so they would tell you if it's a bad idea...

Yeah, plus, Penn acknowledges that they prefer applicants that apply ED. Just look at the percentage disparity between ED and RD. It can't all be because of self-selection. You are only going to have one chance here (unless you transfer of course), so if you really want to go to Penn, apply ED!!!

excel you didn't visit Penn yet or go on an information session? It sounds like by your previous posts that you knew a lot about Penn and actually visitied it. When you go there see if the environment works for you. When I visited it and after I came back a few weeks later, I still loved the place and actually sat on one of the four benches near the statue of Benjamin Franklin and read a book. I did that for about four hours and still wanted to sit there but I had to go visit a class. And no I did not like sitting on that bench because it was comfortable, on the contrary it was uncomfortable but I managed. Yes, I am applying ED. Wow this is a long post, ending it now.
