@TheCrimsonBulldog you got it today? Just curious because I live in SoCal
@emli8100 Yes, it arrived via USPS this afternoon.
i live in md
Low key freaking out because getting into U Penn would be so lit and such a surprise
@stressedsenior99 Same. I’m trying not to get my hopes up, as I received a similar message from UChicago only to be waitlisted, but the apparent correlation between receiving a financial aid letter from Penn the week before Ivy Day and being accepted is far too strong to ignore.
@TheCrimsonBulldog did you discover this trend as well by looking at the previous threads/ if you did were you able to find more than I did (I shared my findings above)
@stressedsenior99 Yes, I did some digging as well. I found a thread from 2011 regarding applicants to the Class of 2015. All five or six people on the thread who mentioned receiving the letter were later admitted.
Also just looking at the people that got this letter they are all MORE THAN QUALIFIED to go to upenn a bunch of people have either gotten accepted into like stanford or deferred from another ivy or gotten into amazing very competitive schools like JHU or have 1500+ sat and 4.0 GPA
Do you think there’s a difference between getting the finaid letter and the finaid email in terms of acceptance? Does the email indicate a borderline admit, and the letter a strong admit?
@TheCrimsonBulldog AH this is so exciting. I never imagined that I would EVER be accepted. If I actually do get rejected I’m going to be so crushed after getting so exciting lol
I got the letter too. I’m choosing not to think that it means anything because I don’t want to get my hopes up. I got into JHU, and am very excited about it. However, I was waitlisted at Reed today, so I’m not sure what to think. Penn is still my first choice no matter what, but I’m starting to really like JHU too.
Unless Penn changed the way they run things this year, I’m fairly certain that this is all but equivalent to an early acceptance.
Anyone got this letter and live on the West Coast?
@TheCrimsonBulldog acceptance just for people who got the snail mail letter?
Also, for reference- I emailed penn a month and a half ago to confirm all my documents were there and they said yes, they were. I got another email today requesting more information. So they’re seriously looking at files now, I guess. In my case, maybe (hopefully!) I had all the standard docs, but i got accepted/waitlisted and they needed this particular document to finalize aid? Or I was a borderline admit and I just got accepted? Idk , it’s a reach. Probably getting rejected lol
welp that’s depressing…I didn’t get one and I applied for financial aid
To the people who got it, did you guys fill out the financial aid supplement?
I got the letter too! Just made a thread about it actually…oops
@realityhitshard unless you had all your documents submitted?
@neuroscience19 From what I’ve seen on here, those who received letters via snail mail about missing documents were offered admission. I can’t say the same about e-mail, as I haven’t seen anything regarding e-mail.
@neuroscience19 I submitted nothing except the FAFSA and then realized my family made too much to get aid lol.
Did the people who got the letter fill out the Penn Fin. Aid Supplement on our portal?
I’m intl. Did the people who got letters have things missing from their fin aid, or did they just ask for more info?
