Received an email from Penn today that got my heart racing only to tell me that decisions will be released March 30 at 5pm Eastern… Honey, I’ve known that since I applied.
I got the email. It went to my junk mail folder for some reason.
@Kimo212 I thought it seemed kind of depressing too! The ‘we enjoyed getting to know you’ makes it sound like a rejection even though it’s sent to all…
Were your emails the same to what mine said? It’s pretty depressing for some reason… the way it’s written.
@greenstudent you read my mind!
Yea the letter is depressing, expecting my first rejection march 30
Yup, got the email. Yawned. Archived straight away. They don’t need to remind me when my heart rate’s going to hit an all-time high.
@nervous17yearold You must have savagery running down your veins, that comment killed me
@stressedsenior99 Seeing as you have a high chance of being admitted, did you also get the email about decisions and was yours as depressing?
My daughter got the exact same email as posted above.
@Faultystart, I beg to differ.
@realityhitshard Yes I got the same email above. Honestly doesn’t make sense to me why they would send out different notification letters based on decisions, might as well just send out the decisions if they’re doing that.
@stressedsenior99 haha okay, I think it’s just my paranoia getting to me then
Ya it sounds like a no to me too but that’s ok. My daughter got into her top 3, this would just be a bonus. Good luck to everyone that truly wants to go here!
So far, my son received an advanced email notification of the official decision announcement from Pomona and was accepted. He only received an email notification from UChicago on the day of the official announcement, and he was waitlisted. I’m hoping that, regardless of how the email from UPenn was couched, this advanced notification is a good sign. Nevertheless, it’s hard not to notice the difference between the Pomona email that started with a hint of a positive news with “Greetings from Pomona College!” and the drab tone of the UPenn email…
@stressedsenior99 I live in MD too, but I’ve already committed to UMD-CP. If you commit to a school before other schools release their decisions, does that affect the other schools’ decisions?
I don’t think they will know but why would you put a deposit down if you’re still waiting to hear back from other places?
@stressedsenior99 Honestly, I just put down a decision because I’m going there for sure. I just wanna see if I can get accepted by Penn or not tbh. Meh, I hope they don’t reject me because I enrolled already. Like I just wanted to see if I’d get in smh
Regarding legacy, this is from Penn’s website in the section that describes ED and RD:
An applicant’s affiliation with Penn, either by being children or grandchildren of alumni, is given the most consideration through Early Decision.
You all need to take a breath lol. It’s just an email.
