University Of Pittsburgh Civil Engineering Department

Has anyone heard anything about it? I'm thinking about going into CE at Pitt and apparently the program isn't ranked that high so I was wondering if anybody knows anything about it or could give me their opinion about studying CE at Pitt?

Just curious.. Why are you thinking about going there?

well it's probably the school I would feel happiest at, it's the closest college on my list to home, in a city where I feel more comfortable. However, I don't know whether those are good reasons to go to Pitt for civil engineering instead of a school like Virginia Tech

going to Pitt for undergrad won't set you back any. Most civ firms recruit regionally, anyhow, so if you want to end up in the area, it's be a good move, and if you want to go to grad school, just do well at Pitt and the top progs will give you a shot

ok so where you study civil engineering dosen't matter right (for undergraduate) if I understand you correctly?

I wouldn't say it doesn't matter, but the differences won't affect you in civil engineering as much as... let's say investment banking, or even aerospace engineering. As far as I know, there aren't "target" schools that companies look to hire from.

Sure? Then do go there, and work hard. :)
