What are my chances of getting into the university of Rhode Island? I’m a senior & I have an 86 -avg from my freshmen to junior year. I scored a 1140/1600 on my sat (560-math & 580 reading). I participate in many things and I’m involved in leadership programs in my school. I live in New York State as well. And also, would I be elidigable for merit based scholarships? My parents don’t want to pay more then 30,000 which is difficult because we don’t qualify for financial aid.
Your stats show you to be the average student they accept. I do not know if they give out a lot of scholarships, but if so you will probably get very little if any money since you are their average student. Look to outside organizations to find scholarships and apply to as many as possible.
@nicolem104 …my D has stats comparable to yours. We are in MA. The state school here usually require significantly higher stats for any merit. UMaine has a flagship match tuition program for many northeast states…not sure about NY but you could check. My D got 9k per year with her stats. Good luck!
@nicolem104 just wondering if you heard today. My stats are similar to yours but they requested my mid year grades. I have a 3.4 and 1080 sat. Lots of leadership and sports. Feeling disappointed
