Signed up for Informed Delivery with USPS for this reason! Can see what’s coming that day. Boy, patience is not MY virtue! (smile)
I tried the deposit thing and it doesn’t work as of Today. However, it may start working tomorrow, as the website states that decisions will be released around the 20th of January.
@Emmycat @ProudMom2022 I called the admissions office and they said that due to the recent snow days they did not defer (or deny) anyone due to not receiving first semester grades. They said that they went ahead and mailed everyone’s decisions with or without the first semester grades.
They were mailed today!
What about international students? Do they get update on their portal or is it snail mail as well?
I haven’t seen anything on the Portal that shows decision. If we are looking at the same thing, it shows a table listing all of the things necessary to apply and the date received. Is there another place to check? I see most information is that it will only be mailed snail mail however.
We are actually not feeling good about DS’s chances to get in to UR, but still anxious about result of acceptance. Stats are: 1320 SAT; 3.8 GPA (weighted), 3 honors, 3 AP’s and no typical EC’s with leadership, more so EC’s like hobbies; shy and at home kinda kid interested in business.
Thanks so much for the update @DCspartan!
so postal delivery still happens with federal government shut down correct?
^^^That is correct. Postal service is not impacted by the shutdown.
Does anyone know how long snail mail usually takes to get to NY? Literally can’t wait haha.
@smileeokay probably 2 days so monday. Georgetown took 2 days from DC to NY and richmonds pretty close!

Has anyone checked this website and seen if they can make the non-refundable admission deposit? For ED applicants they had the option to make the deposit if they were accepted, so has anyone tried this for EA?
the site didn’t work for me but perhaps that’s because it’s saturday and the office is probably closed? I live in NH does anyone think my letter will arrive by monday? i’m so nervous!
how long do you think it would take for my letter to come if I live in a suburb of chicago? I checked the usps website and it estimated that a package coming from richmond to my town would take two business days. any thoughts?
We live in Virginia (only two hours from Richmond) and didn’t have anything in the mail today so I think Monday is too soon for NH.
We live an hour from Richmond and my daughter’s arrived today! The acceptance envelope is big!
When I tried to log into my portal today it asked for my Richmond ID to make a deposit. Hopefully that is a good sign.
When I put in my information to make a deposit, it said my account was denied. I guess I didn’t get in… when I logged into the portal it looked the same as it always does.
I am not sure @Raider01 is talking about the same thing and may be confused.
It would clarify things if someone who actually received their admission envelope tried to access the deposit page and was able to get past that.
Around decision time there are often first time users who jump in with conflicting stories just to stress people out.
Not necessarily the case here though…
When I click New Spiders on the Admission Deposit Payment page it takes me to a screen that says Congratulations! but it won’t accept deposit info…Hesitate to show my DD in case it is a computer glitch everyone can access.
