Deferred (specifically cited my international status as why) but I got selected as a finalist for the Richmond Scholars program. Just 80 out of 11k this year so I’m definitely in shock.

My kid applied last year and was awarded merit about a month after EA acceptance. Before that happened, I hadn’t seen anything on the message boards about merit coming after the acceptance letter. I don’t know if that was a one time thing last year or a possibility again this year.

DD accepted, Physics. TO, 4.1 W GPA, 3 sport varsity athlete (captain of 2), head of peer tutoring, tons of other EC’s. Excellent rec’s and essays. DD went to Richmond’s visit to her school in the fall and we did the self guided tour over her spring break last year (they were also on spring break).
