University of Richmond Waitlist 2025

please do keep us updated of their response.

@Anantaniium Congratulations! Have you wrote an LOCI yet? Depending on the school, admissions will accept one or more LOCIā€™s from the prospective student and in that letter you can include an update on grades or anything noteworthy that has happened since the application date. We were told by one school that additional Recommendation letters or portfolio submissions would NOT be considered. But informing them of a new achievement like being published seems to be more of an ā€œupdateā€ that they would want to know about. To be safe, you or your advisor could contact the U of Richmond AO and ask if you are able to include an update in your LOCI.

I donā€™t have any advisor or something, Iā€™m just all alone, and the research article is also done solely by me.
Iā€™ve written to my admission counselor, and hope to hear back soon. Also, I have requested an interview as I didnā€™t got one earlier. Hope that Iā€™ll be a Spider this fall.

no, I tried to find but canā€™t find any such info.

Also, who all have submitted their LOCI till now ???

You have no idea how hurt I felt. I was broken and couldnā€™t even say anything. I just asked myself one question ā€œwhy didnā€™t they reject me in the first place and not given a run around?ā€. I felt like some kind of fool who had false hope. Anyway, it is what it is.

I asked if I could send it and they said yes. The next day when I was about to send it they rejected me. Youā€™re all lucky youā€™re still on the list.

Well we all know thatā€™s possible, not everyone is admitted from a waitlist but what I just didnā€™t understand is how abrupt their final decision was. It was as if they realised they made a mistake to even place me on a waitlist to begin with.

I was about to.

They sent me an email that there is an update on my application and that was it.

I unfortunately have heard of colleges doing that before. Apparently theyā€™ve also rejected people off the waitlist if you solely do not fit what they need anymore. Its unfortunate and unfair though and you cant control it

Just curious; what kind of acceptances have you guys secured so far? Wanted to see what kind of good news people are getting, since waitlist discussions donā€™t usually highlight the positive sides of the college search.

Iā€™m from India, and have no AP curriculum in the school. Went test-optional and require full-aid (EFC is $6k per annum), and Iā€™m sure all this is the perfect recipe for rejections.

I do have stellar LORs, 4.0 GPA for whole of my high school (9th to 12th), always rank 1 in my class, and also the most promiment leader in all my school activities, while also having some difficult life problems since childhood, which Iā€™ve talked about in personal essay and how I learned from them and grew as a better person.
URichmond was my first college decisions for RD; I got rejected REA by Harvard.
Then, after URichmond, Iā€™ve been seeing straight rejections

  1. MIT
  2. Franklin and Marshall
  3. Macalester
  4. Colgate

Waiting for Vassar and Reed; and then 4 Ivys(Princeton, Yale, Cornell, Brown) and Stanford. So, you know Iā€™m pretty much empty from inside by this time and URichmond is my only line of hope.

Oh. Yeah, thatā€™s not ideal. Fingers crossed for Reed; I would think that would be a fair next lifeline if youā€™ve at least gotten a UR waitlist (plus, I hear Reed is awesome!).

Looking through all of these schools, I see they have become a bit more competitive since I was applying, and also the whole test-optional thing is probably throwing stuff off (for the better IMO, but still). Still, given how random the process is, I still think you have a good shot with the rest of them (at least Reed and maybe Vassar). Any one of your remaining options would be awesome - and have a similar feel to Richmond from what I hear - so hopefully your luck turns around in the late game. Also, fingers crossed on the waitlist; itā€™s never likely, but it does happen.
