University of Rochester admissions process

Hi. So I applied to U of R as an international undergraduate student and am anxiously waiting for my decision to be released. Three people in total from my high school, including myself, have applied to the university for fall term and both of them got accepted (felt happy for them but incredibly miserable for myself, a really mixed feeling) a few days ago, but on MyRoc page, my application is STILL on committee review. I understand that the college has thousands of applications to read, but I'm getting really impatient now, especially after reading a thread on this site from last year. I know that U of R sends out 'waves of notifications' from beginning of march til april 1st. However, it has come to my attention that acceptance letters are sent off after the first week of march and wait-listed or denial letters are sent off by the end of the month. Is this true? I have been consecutively rejected from 4 universities right now and I'm extremely stressed right now. Could this late notification be an indication of my rejection? Sorry for the long question, but please understand. Thanks in advance to those who reply.

No, it’s not true. U of R sends all three types of letters in each wave.

I’ve been accepted three days ago and my app is still on committee review on the site. And my friend was rejected a few days ago too.

Do they send you emails when decisions are released?

Nope I haven’t received an email.

Thanks for the replies. It’s a relief to know that they send out all three types of letters every wave. I haven’t received any emails either and MyRoc says that my application is still on committee review.

I received an email with my acceptance around 6 days ago and the portal still shows it’s on committee review !

wow, that’s weird elunium and Shash95. I don’t have US mail so I’m guessing that they’ll be sending my decision via email. Any idea when the next wave is guys? I’m still waiting to hear back from them…
