University of Rochester incoming Sophomore Transfer students class of 2020

So the university of rochester online says they are a transfer friendly school but the transfer rate is 30%…
I want to transfer in as a sophomore for next year but am worried because I mostly took gen. eds. my first year because I wasn’t sure what I wanted to Major in but I have decided on engineering
Courses Ive taken at Penn State University:
First college Semester:
Nutrition 251
Engineering Design
First year engineering Seminar (1 credit class)
English 15
Second/Current Semester:
Macroeconomics
Music 5 (trying to get rid of those pesky art credits)
Philosophy 300
Women’s Studies
Politcal Science
Total Credits: 25
College GPA: 3.8
Highschool GPA: 3.9 UW/ W 4.7
Top 3% of Class
ACT score: 23 ( yeah it sucks…anxiety disorder just doesn’t help…)

I had originally Talked to RIT and they said they wouldn’t accept me due to my lack of science/math courses…it makes me feel like no school will accept me to their engineering program because of this but I wasnt sure what i wanted to major in but now i am as I’m only a freshman…help?
Places applying:
NYU
University of Rochester

Advice Please???
Anyone else transfer in as an incoming sophomore with mostly gen eds? How difficult is it to transfer in?

Current student here: if you haven’t made a final decision on a major yet, then why not just apply for a different program and switch your major when you talk to your advisor once admitted? Or even say undecided and you can make the final decision once you’re in. I was a transfer student and I think you have a good chance of admission. But I think what is most important are your extracurriculars. If you’ve done plenty of volunteering, independent research, etc. I think you’d have a great chance of admission. As a transfer student, what they’re really looking at even more than high school is what you did during your first year of college and how you did in your classes. You seem to have done fairly well, and as long as your extracurriculars are fantastic, I think you would be accepted.
