Since many people are asking, I received my merit scholarship around four days after the decision came out. I received an email saying I received one. You can find it on myRoc after that, but you’ll also get more info in the financial aid packet.
S was accepted! Congrats to all who got in. Hoping that the rest of the decisions are sent very soon for those who are still waiting. The whole process is so long.
Hey everyone, just caught up on this thread – my son was accepted after checking the portal after school around 3:10 p.m.! No financial aid or mention of a RIG or anything like that. Looking forward to visiting and receiving the financial aid package. Congratulations and good luck to those still waiting.
I have both been rejected from Uchicago and Notre Dame and I am starting to worry…
I am international student from Tunisia.
SAT: 650CR - 700M- 770W
SAT II: 690 Math1 - 800 French
TOEFL: 111
Class rank: 9 out of 200
GPA: 16/17 out of 20 (ours are not graded out of 4)
Essays: I’d say 8 or 9 / 10
Recommendations: the teachers are really awesome so I’m hoping at least a 9
Extracurricular activities:
Debater
Painter
Organizer of parties for handicapped children
Volunteering at an orphanage (my Personal Statement was about that)
Exchange student in the US for a year
Science olympiad in the US
Math Club tutor
…
Drawbacks: I’m asking for a lot of fin aid (almost full tuition because we really cannot afford school expenses)
Do you think I have a chance?
I really want a liberal art education which is not available in my country.
Whoops! My bad, I thought this was the Boston University thread. I haven’t gotten my decision from URoch yet, still on step 4. Anyone know when decisions are released?
@STLStudent1234, congratulations! hey, did you send in any other materials instead of the interview? I didn’t know about it until it was too late… but I sent in a writing sample and a family/friend recommendation letter. Do you think that’s good enough? Thanks!
My S was admitted without submitting a writing supplement. He did do an interview on campus when we visited there. Best of luck to everyone still waiting. Hoping for good news for everyone.
