•University of Rochester RD Class of 2020•

@beatingheart I suspect Thursday or Friday. I honestly do not know. There is probably one last batch next week too.

Got a 16k IB children! Hope financial aid will come through.

nothing yet…

Did any international student hear from the university? Still on Step 4

I am an international student also and a friend of mine got waitlisted yesterday. But I am still in stage 4.

@dudefromnowhere Y’day when I spoke to admission folks they told, they will send a separate mail related to merit aid and the info will be available in myRoc portal typically 7-10 days after some one gets UG admission.

Though they have few full tuition scholarship, what I heard is typically it is some amount like $15 or 20 or 25k like that.

@imansoor14 I’m an international student and I’ve been in Step 4 for ages @__@

Oh, @mprut0987 lol. Where are you from?

@mprut0987 I feel you hahaha I am SO done with checking this thread everyday I want to cry hahaha

@GoldenRock yes we did the Merit email and it was a dean’s scholarship for 14k. Unfortunately this doen’t help us decide or lean towards Rochester specially after having a full tuition from Pitt (lower in rankings but very comparable for health/life sciences)

Hence was wondering if there was chance for a higher scholarship or should we put it on the backburner

@dudefromnowhere I hear you. I am on the same path. My D got the UG admission last week. But not yet received any details to how much she will get merit aid for Rochester. Personally I was impressed with UPitt no non sense approach. She applied in Sept and right away in Sept they gave her UG admission and full tuition. I asked her if she would like to consider going to UPitt and she is not showing interest. Personally I will take it, it is not too bad at all for a pre-med student.

A few international students, including myself, have received a decision, yes.

@dudefromnowhere and @goldenrock, we are from Pittsburgh!! The University of Pittsburgh is a fantastic institution for pre-medicine, engineering, neuroscience, and even philosophy!! Their connection with UPMC and the medical institutions that surround the campus are bar non. If both of your children were offered full tuition scholarships, I would encourage you to take a hard look. Have you visited campus? CMU is right up the street, the art museum is on Pitt’s campus, basically, and the city is a couple of miles away all accessible by public transportation. My son was accepted, but not with any kind of scholarship. He has not been serious about the school because he doesn’t want to stay here in our city. We live about 20 min. away. Good luck. Hail to Pitt!

Did anyone get anything?
Checking my portal and this forum is like a routine now

this is agonizing. What is taking them so long for us yet so short for others?

Picture stacks and stacks and stacks of applications. They can’t read them all concurrently, so they get to some first, others later. And, although I don’t know their process, often some less obvious decisions are held over for committee, and so that may be the process for the last batch. And although it’s torture for those still waiting, it’s really helpful for some to have the news as it becomes available rather than everyone having to wait for everything to be decided.

I won their Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award scholarship, had a 2140 SAT, 34 ACT superscore, 100.67 GPA, ranked 4/380 in my class, and I was waitlisted and given the choice to re-enter the applicant pool. Is this because I didn’t request an interview, which they most likely deemed as not showing enough interest, and that they’re assuming that I only applied their because I won their scholarship?

@metsfan98 They are pretty big on the interview and interest, yes.

Dtr was notified she received Rush Rhees merit scholarship 4-5 d after notified of acceptance.

nothing in california yet :frowning:
