So I’m having a tough time deciding between the two…
-
It seems like Rochester is the better school academically. But I’ve heard that it’s really only known for medicine, and I’m planning on being on the International Relations/Polisci and Russian track.
-
One of my goals is to get a Fulbright scholarship and when I went to visit F&M, they said that they had 8 Fulbright scholars this year. That’s a lot. Obviously I’m not going to go to a school just to get a scholarship but still.
-
I come from a really small school (class of 70) and I want to stay in smaller classes (I know that intro classes are always going to be big, but it’s 40 (f&m) vs. 200.
-
I want a tight-knit community.
-
I want a place where the people around me are smart and driven, and can motivate me to be my best self. So people who are studious, and academics always come first. It’s not that I don’t like partying, I just don’t want it to be the entire atmosphere of the college.
-
Rochester has a 5th year free program and I like to learn. I could gain a lot more knowledge by sticking around for another year.

Does anyone know how each school is viewed by employers?
If anyone can shed light on any of these, it would be extremely helpful.
