University of Rochester. Waitlisted after high school, applying as transfer for sophomore year

I applied last year as a graduating senior and was waitlisted. Unfortunately I was not taken off the waitlist but I have shown continuous interest in UR. I want to apply as a transfer now. Anyone in the same situation, got denied for the second time, or accepted the second time they applied?

I have spoken to the same admissions advisor for over 2 years explaining my constant interest and my grades have improved since high school (HS GPA: 3.3 current GPA: 3.5 after first semester freshman year). He strongly advises that if I am going to reapply, i do not wait past the fall 2014 term.

Yes, applying as a transfer in this situation can work if you have brought your grades up substantially. I don’t know if a 3.5 will be high enough, but it’s certainly worth a try.
