University of San Diego 2021

@Loganjt1 I am not sure. I think the financial aid/merit scholarship information would be in our admission package. And they might have shipped my admission package earlier because I am an international so it would take some time to get here (10-12 days).

Saw a post on USD Admissions twitter (dated 3/17) that decisions were made the day before & should be mailed out shortly . Someone replied asking if portals would be updated as well but no response was given. Just throwing this out there for what it is worth!!.

Received my letter today! No merit scholarship but I’m attending regardless. Best of luck to all those still waiting!!

I’m assuming it is a no for my kid. Still says Complete. Ready for Review.

Ditto here

Same with mine.

I called today for my daughter, they said they will be notifying for the entire week. Not feeling confident at this point.

@ramer Did they say anything about portals and mailing? Which we can expect first?

I asked, they were vaque and said they will be doing both, portal could update first or mail may happen. My daughter was denied at SDSU because she did not check a box, her application was never reviewed. She did appeal it, but we are not holding our breath. Her dream is to stay near home. At this point she will be going out of state. Her so called safe school CSULB had over 100,000 applicants and still haven’t finished acceptances.

The waiting is driving all of us crazy. She is scheduled for a tour at USD on Thursday, I was hoping she would know before then. Feeling doubtful

Wonder which box she could have missed?? What a bummer. Hope that was not the case here… My portal still says “Complete Ready for Review.” Fingers crossed but also not feeling very confident. Was waitlisted at UW Seattle and denied at Santa Clara so really hoping USD works but trying to stay practical.

She took Dual classes and SDSU told her it looked like she wouldn’t graduate so they denied her without review. Her counselor and her got on the phone and called the 2 CA schools that she applied for. USD said she was fine and they see her Dual Classes on her transcripts. Long Beach said, they caught the error because it didn’t make sense with her GPA to not graduate. She got accepted into Boise State and offered a good scholarship as well as Utah. She really wants San Diego though. Good luck to you, I hope it works for you.

My daughter’s status is complete-ready for review. Called admissions to ask when a decision would be made. She said all types of decisions are being sent out and to keep checking our mailbox. I thought an acceptance would show up in her portal? Are denials being sent out by mail?

I asked the same, they said both getbupdatec. But I would like to know if she gets denied is it on the portal? It seems like everyone gets accepted on portal first. I am pretty much losing hope. She has tour scheduled for Thursday.

Looks like we applied to the same schools. I was waitlisted at Santa Clara and denied admission at UW Seattle. What other schools did you apply to? Where did you get in?

Accepted but no scholarships offered. Really want to go to this school but I don’t know if the debt is worth it. Should I just stick to going to UCR? Any advice?

@idontlikegolf UCR is a great school! I have known many students that have attended, graduated in 4 years, and either go on to grad school or straight to work. I think you are very wise to look at the $$ and no I don’t think the extra (which is quite large) is worth it. Save your money for grad school! BTW I very much support USD, this will be my 2nd child to attend but both went/going on very large scholarship packages, which is the only way they would be able to go.

My daughter received her waitlisted letter today in mail!

When you guys are referring to scholarships, they aren’t the same thing as grants correct? I have. $30000 dollar grant per year, but I don’t think I got a scholarship. Is it the same?

I just received my waitlisted letter today too! I was wondering if anyone knows their waitlist admissions rates from previous years? And do I just wait for their waitlist email to add myself onto it?

Last year is was about 58% of those who chose to be placed on waitlist. You can find the information on the common data set for USD
