I received offer letter from both Universities with some scholarships. With scholarship, both universities cost of attendance becomes same. I am an international applicant and want to know which university would be better to attend in fall 2016. I will do major in Biology(Molecular Biology).
O’d go with southern Mississippi. Better weather and environment, and it’s very strong for the sciences.
Why only those two schools?
what are your stats? What is your budget?
what is your goal with molecular bio?
If you prefer warm weather, s. Mississippi; cold weather, S. Dakota. Academics are about equal.
@mom2collegekids I got accepted from Stony Brook University and from others but they did not give me scholarship. My budget is low like my parents can spend $20-25k. My goal is to become a genetic engineer/ become a scientific researcher in the field of genetic/cellular biology.
I am not concern about the weather. I can manage with any weather (cold/warm). I am concern about academics and of undergraduate research facility. Moreover, I might get accepted in the South Dakota’s Honors program.
Just looking at acceptance rate, Southern Mississippi appears to be much more selective.
I guess I would be concerned about diversity and tolerance in both places – not sure what the atmosphere is like in either place.
