So I’m down to USF and VT. I am planning to study mechanical engineering. I know VT is known to be a better engineering school but I really like the area of USF. I’m from PA and have always wanted to move to Florida, and I think if I go to USF I will be able to know if I want to live there, and I could get a job there easier out of USF. I also love to fish in Florida and would really like the warm weather year round.
So ultimately it’s acedemics vs enjoyment. Not sure what to go with

Go to USF. Being more comfortable there will result in you being more successful overall and eliminate any supposed “benefit” based on prestige. Especially if you end up working in Florida after graduation. And double especially if you end up changing majors, which most college students do at least once.

I do really like the campus of VT too and the area was also nice
