@kyledad Yes there have been OOS engineering students accepted. I know from our area some that have gotten into Petroleum engineering and Aerospace in early December.
@collegemom111111 Only a very small percentage of students were/will be accepted in waves. Nobody really knows the rhyme or reason behind this. The vast majority of students will be accepted by the very end of January or the very end of February, when the absolute deadlines near.
Over 53% of the ‘yes’ decisions have been released, or about 9000. This is obviously not a small portion, and they are not following what they have done in previous years by releasing 5-10% of the decision in waves. They have about 8000 more acceptances to release.
How do you have such an exact number on how many acceptances went out already?
@Bayeriffic It’s in the campus to counselor emails. They actually contain very useful information and can be found here: https://sites.utexas.edu/admissions-news/
My Status page just popped up with a “To Do” - High School Transcript - the “detail” says that although your HS transcript has been uploaded it still needs to be reviewed by admissions.
Did anyone else get this update on your My Status page? Seems odd.
@UTWannabe23 That is strange. I would think that they review everything.
Does anyone know if the Colleges of Education and Social Work have released any of their decisions yet?
Has there been any news on anyone getting into Moody?
I assume you’re asking for recent news on Moody. But in case your asking about all Moody acceptances, my son was accepted to RTF in December (IS, AA)
One of my friends was telling me that a few people she knows have already been rejected, I thought they released all rejections on the same date? Are they going it differently?
Rejected as Freshman Applicants or Transfer Students?
I was under the impression that they were Freshman applicants.
Are they releasing decisions this Friday?
I was accepted into UT! Out of state
@sighcollege Congratulations! When did you receive your decision?
What major? @sighcollege
For the housing app, did you just pay a $50 fee and that’s it? Is there no place to put what dorm you want to go to or any of that??
hi! i am going to put my stats here. i want to be a CS major, but as it’s very hard to get into, i put CS as first major and undecided as my second.
- ACT: 29 (34 on english, 23 on math, 32 on reading, 26 on science)
- SAT: took three times, highest was 1310 (670 on english and 640 on math)
- GPA: 3.8 on a weighted scale
- AP courses: AP psych (1 LOL), AP lang (3), APUSH (3), and this year i am taking AP CS, Env. Sci., Lit, and Bio.
- Race: Hispanic female
- Rank: 91/474 which puts me top 18% so i am a review applicant
- In state
I applied on 11/29.
Extracurriculars:
- I founded and was president of my school’s poetry club my freshman year
- Made the website for said poetry club
- I spend every weekend + extra time on breaks volunteering to teach kids how to ice skate
- In UIL Journalism
i got 3 recommendations from teachers who know me and my life very well, and personally was able to read one that was fantastic. i am praying that my rec’s help get me in as my stats are mediocre. with my average stats, i don’t necessarily stand out, so i am not expecting to get in. but hey, anything is possible. fingers crossed and good luck to everyone!
Do we think there will be any decisions going out on friday? Or are all of the rest of them coming out on February 1st?
