That’s what I would also like to know. My DD applied priority deadline and hasn’t heard a thing.
Hi! I’ve applied for Middle Eastern Studies regular decision, I was wondering do you guys know how competitive the major is? if competitive at all?
Any biochemistry/CNS acceptances? I haven’t heard of many. I am a review admit.
Have any Economic majors been accepted yet? I have seen literally none.
how competitive are the english and philosophy majors??
I haven’t seen anyone accepted to Moody CSD Speech/Pathology yet for OOS or in state. I think two more releases - the 25th and then the 1st will be a mix of accept/denial.
@moneyplays why do you think there will be a wave this friday?
@mea2023 there have been waves for the past two Fridays but obviously not guaranteed …
@UTWannabe23 okay thanks good to know
Yes there have been BioChem/CNS and ECON acceptances. My guess is that most colleges and majors have had some releases by now, or will have by Feb 1, but this Thread probably doesn’t have enough applicants associated with it and/or posting, to cover every single Major.
The school told me back in December decisions would be released every Friday starting 12/14 and then she said she didn’t know if there would be releases over the holidays and they would pick back up until 2/1. She also said most decisions are released after 4pm Texas time. What she said has been consistent so far. I’m only gong by that. We are OOS and my DD has friends that are sure to be accepted and they are yet to hear. My DD is a reach.
My bold predictions are that 1. there will be another wave on Friday afternoon and 2. someone will write a post every single day asking if there will be another wave this week
Your post takes the win!!! Honestly, I’m not sure why so many are complaining about the process. If you applied early action/priority it says you will be notified by 2/1. It’s not 2/1 yet. It doesn’t matter if you were 1st or 17,000th to get your app in. Everyone hears by the same 2/1 date. Waiting sucks but that’s how it goes. 10 more days left and I’m sure we’ll all survive even if we don’t get the news we were hoping for! That said, wishing everyone the best!
@moneyplays - 100% spot on. They’ve always said 2/1. So for anyone to be disappointed in the process, it’s wasted energy. We should be grateful they’re sharing any acceptances! There are other schools that stand firm on their release date and roll them all out at once but UT has too many programs to wait until the very end (AA, Plan I, Plan II, PACE, CAP). It is what it is. Everyone will end up where they’re supposed to and have bright futures regardless!!! Just don’t visit this page so much. It stresses everyone out needlessly. Thankfully, I haven’t mentioned this page to my kid. Seniors have enough stress to deal with without me adding to hers. Good luck everyone!!!
When my DS got his acceptance to Purdue (Computer Science) last Jan 15 (Purdue has always said all EA notifications will be ON Jan 15), the copy of his acceptance letter online was dated Jan 4. So they knew before and just held off notifying us. Of course, Purdue was less stressful since we didn’t waste our time refreshing, refreshing, refreshing since we knew nothing will happen before Jan 15. I just wished UT would tell us now regardless so I can be more productive here at home and work instead of refreshing, refreshing, refreshing. This will be the longest two weeks ever!!
Is anyone familiar with UT’s public health program? How good it is, etc.
Absolutely! I haven’t mentioned it either. If I used this page as a baseline, my DD is sure to not be accepted but I know that everyone has a story and while grades and the almighty class ranking are deemed so important, there is also something equally important called character. I found this thread on accident and now follow it. Truthfully, it stresses me out but we’re down the stretch so I stay with it. You said it best “Everyone will end up where they’re supposed to…”
A decline from UT is not an end all. We’ve already got great acceptances and California schools don’t even release until 3/15 so how’s that for having to wait? It’s all gonna work out just fine… for everyone!
How many students have been accepted into McCombs? Is there still plenty of time to hear or if you haven’t gotten in yet is it safe to assume that you’re out?
@redwarrior I don’t think anyone OOS has, idk about in state. I also applied to McCombs and have yet to see someone on here that has gotten in yet
OOS accepted around 1/10 to McCombs. pretty sure Ive seen others. i would guess there are still about a third of the spaces left.
