University of Texas at Austin Class of 2024 Admissions / Preparation

@Rosen1001 I don’t think they have been getting released all today. I believe there was a little wave last night.

@Rosen1001 I agree with @curioustyler, I think the few posts that happened today were just posting today, but found out last night. Fingers crossed for tonight! Good luck to all of those still waiting. Still guessing that we’ll get some tonight, tomorrow night, and Friday night.

YOUR RIGHT SO SORRY hoping we both get in today!

@HokieCrazy he had the option to take AP’s starting his junior year. He had all 5s in AP Physics, AP SPanish, AP Calculus BC, AP Comp Science

No decision here. OOS (MA)

Is it a bad sign if i have not received decision yet, or do yall think they just are releasing in a certain order? I am an in state student btw

same

do they send an email or do you all just check the portal? My OOS daughter is still waiting as well

Hello everyone I applied to UT in the beginning of November after priority deadline. My major is Economics. GPA unweighted is 3.7/4 and weighted is 4.25. I have all IB classes and I am attempting to get the IB diploma. My rank is 24%. SAT is 1260 (Math 610 and Reading is 650). I also have good ECs. I still have not recieved a response from UT and was wondering if you guys could help me understand what my chances of getting in are. You can be brutal, I just want honesty. Thank you

listen… it’s not all about grades there are plenty of people especially this year with lower grades than others that got in. Essays are important not just skill in school and that’s what I teach. It’s not all about grades it’s personality and extra curricular activities

Imma be real: since you are not in-state nor near the top of your class, you would need a sat score of 1480+ in order to have a chance. Not saying it is impossible, but definitely a long shot for you to get in due to how competitive admissions at UT are nowadays

I do not know if it makes much of a difference but I am instate

increases your chances a slim amount, still wishing you the best of luck

@jumpman2323 I respectfully disagree… the act scores of people OOS who have been accepted so far are like 32’s and 33’s. equivalent to 1350’s-1450’s tops. And their admissions report from 2 years has the middle SAT ranged at 1290-1460, Obviously, it has changed but couldn’t have been that drastically.

Yup but they also want a certain type of individual. Guessing OOS will go on til Friday night then rest are denied. I’m still waiting too

For the people who have gotten in, did you just check your portal or did you get an email saying your admission decision was ready? I am OOS and haven’t heard back yet.

Do any of yall think there will be a lot of acceptances on this fridays wave or more denials

@jumpman2323 My prediction is most of the OOS acceptances will be this Friday. Whether they do the rejections at that point, as well, is to be seen. That could be the following Friday.

Did you have an interview for McCombs? I have a friend that got in OOS in December and had phone interview but I have not received anything about interview and haven’t heard yet?

Has UT been granting non-auto admits general admission if they do not give them their major or is it just a straight up rejection if you do not get your major?
