I have wandered around and this seems to be the best match for me. I really have no hope Ivy something, or even Austin. Just enough to study Economics (my dream: economist). Do anyone have any experience or personal opinion about this university? Is it good like it sounds.

It's a very good University. Both of my brothers go there and I am planning to do so as well. One of them is on the prestigious McDermott Scholarship. You have made a very wise choice, my friend.

Hey dude I am currently a freshman at UTD. I'm going to list the good things and bad things for you.

Good
1. Academics
2. Scholarships
3. Apartments are big, roomy.
4. Quiet, easy to study in campus.
5. People are nice and friendly

Bad
1. Very few attractive women (personal opinion)
2. No parties or campus life of any kind
3. Very hard to meet people because everyone stays in apartments all the time.
4. Commuter Campus
5. Sports are a complete joke.
6. No dining hall. You have to cook for yourself.

Summary:
Basically, most kids here are smart. They go to class and either go back to their apartment and play video-games, or go home and play video-games. There are very few parties or girls. I'm not saying this is a bad or good thing, it's just how it is here. A lot of people that go here really enjoy the independence, lack of immaturity, and free time to do what they want (play video-games). If you are one of these people, you will love it here.

P.S. I joined this forum simply to reply to this post. I wanted to warn you that if you are not one of those people, you may have a miserable time here.
