I have wandered around and this seems to be the best match for me. I really have no hope Ivy something, or even Austin. Just enough to study Economics (my dream: economist). Do anyone have any experience or personal opinion about this university? Is it good like it sounds.

It’s a very good University. Both of my brothers go there and I am planning to do so as well. One of them is on the prestigious McDermott Scholarship. You have made a very wise choice, my friend.

Hey dude I am currently a freshman at UTD. I’m going to list the good things and bad things for you.

Good
- Academics
- Scholarships
- Apartments are big, roomy.
- Quiet, easy to study in campus.
- People are nice and friendly

Bad
- Very few attractive women (personal opinion)
- No parties or campus life of any kind
- Very hard to meet people because everyone stays in apartments all the time.
- Commuter Campus
- Sports are a complete joke.
- No dining hall. You have to cook for yourself.

Summary:
Basically, most kids here are smart. They go to class and either go back to their apartment and play video-games, or go home and play video-games. There are very few parties or girls. I’m not saying this is a bad or good thing, it’s just how it is here. A lot of people that go here really enjoy the independence, lack of immaturity, and free time to do what they want (play video-games). If you are one of these people, you will love it here.

P.S. I joined this forum simply to reply to this post. I wanted to warn you that if you are not one of those people, you may have a miserable time here.
