University of Texas--Austin Admissions

If decisions are 20th, what does it mean that ‘gives the applicant 1-1.5 weeks to decide’? when an applicant receives a yes admission decision, how long do they get to decide to accept?

You have until May 1 to accept your offer of admission, so everyone should have about 2 months to decide. That’s still longer than you have to decide about many private schools.

What do you mean 1-1.5 weeks? I haven’t heard about that

Lol I’m putting all my money on the big wave coming out on the 27th. We’ve been saying there will be a big wave coming for the last month and a half. The decisions will come out as late as UT can get them out which is the 27th.

@McCombsHopeful‌ Haha thats very true. I hope it will be earlier :stuck_out_tongue:

The stress is unreal when your first choice is UT and you are waiting to see if you are in or not! Oh my gosh. I JUST WANT TO KNOW

Hey has anyone else gotten the notification that their application isn’t in review anymore? I applied to mccombs as my first choice as well as BHP, and cockrell as my second. Does anyone know what this means??

Just got accepted to Cockrell for Biomedical Engineering!! Out of State applicant (Idaho of all places), applied right on the deadline (cut it a little too close…). Will post stats if anyone is interested!

@bsb4389 did you find out on the portal? If you lived in texas would you be an auto-admit?

@Newsie2015 Yes, I just found out by randomly checking today (like I did everyday). I’m not sure what qualifies an auto-admit, but my school doesn’t rank so I assume I wouldn’t be an auto-admit, but I’m not completely sure…

i applied for Computer Science CNS (out of state) and mine’s says it’s still in review

@bsb4389 so you checked yesterday and nothing was there?

I wish there was rhyme to UT’s reason. If they are releasing it by college, then hopefully they will do Moody next.

Are the colleges releasing the decision themselves or is UT choosing to release the admission decisions by waves.

@Newsie2015 Yeah, there was nothing there last night or even this morning. It is a very confusing process of admissions and I have no idea how it works, so best of luck to you!
