University of Texas @ Austin Class of 2025 After you've been accepted....Q&A

Haha! Longhorn stayed at Brackenridge at 91-92. The fifth picture in below link shows an upright.

@FriscoDad, this link is AWESOME!! I found where you could compare all the dorms. Thank you! Thank you! Too bad the piano isn’t a grand but better than nothing. Do you recall if Brackenridge had a kitchen? I see that Roberts did not and for some reason, I’m thinking that only one of the three in BRP have the kitchen.
@ceces_pizza123, check out this link that Frisco dad gave above. It could be helpful to you in your search too.

I got accepted to UT as a Biochemistry major and I am waiting to hear back from the CNS Honors program. Does anyone know what dorms are the best as well as those that are convenient for my major?
Also congrats to everyone else who got in!!

Just wondering, are you oos?

No I am not

Has anyone received an update on the Forty Acres Scholars Semi-finalists yet? I cannot find a discussion on this topic for the Class of 2025- it seems semifinalist notification emails went out around this time last year.

I think some people already heard back if they got an interview or not around a week or 2 ago

hi there, i was just accepted to UT for McCombs, and I was looking at dorms - i was looking at Jester and I was wondering, what’s the difference between Jester East and Jester West, and is there one that’s better?

Have any math majors been accepted yet?

Hi! Thank you for this thread. Lots of great information. My daughter was admitted back in early December. We are OOS. She currently has a 504 for ADHD (inattentive). Does anyone have any experience with UT Austin and a student with a 504 plan? Would love to hear insight and experiences of how they handle student accommodations. Thank you.

My daughter is a sophomore at UT. You have to contact the SSD Services for Students with Disabilities office (https://diversity.utexas.edu/disability/). They can walk you through the process. We had to have paperwork/diagnoses that was no more than 5 years old. She is dyslexic, so we could NOT use our school’s tests. It had to be from an outside professional. Once you give them all of the paperwork, the student has to schedule an appointment to discuss accommodations. Appointments opened up June 1, if I remember correctly. During the school year, there is a whole process which you have to follow to get the accommodations for each class/each semester, but that is discussed at length at the initial appointment. I will tell you that the student must be a really good advocate for herself. This is a really big school, and they don’t hold your hand and do NOT deal with parents. Hope this helps.

Thank you. So if her formal diagnosis was in elementary school, I imagine we will need a more current diagnosis from a psychiatrist. Good to know. Thank you.

Can you tell us why you would not want your student living in Callaway? My daughter mentioned today she would like to live there.

Correct.

Both are old dorms (not as old as Brackenridge…) you will fill like walking into some 80s hotels… West closer to food… You will find east a little more expensive but that may be due to some light touch of renovation.

anyone have insight to when moody honors decisions might come out?

My D submitted her immunization record and uploaded scanned copy in the system on Sunday (1/17), it still shows unverified.
How long it take to complete the verification process ?
