S18 just received an email re a “nomination” to apply using their “exclusive Tiger Choice Application.” Touts special benefits including no essay, priority scholarship and priority admission decision. Looks like just smart marketing as son has visited the school a couple of times and they need to compete with the big boys for applicants. Any reason NOT to utilize as S18 intends to apply there anyway?
If he plans to apply anyways, definitely use the “exclusive application”.

If he applies early with that application. he might have a better chance for merit scholarships. My son applied with their “exclusive” application, was accepted right away with a Presidential scholarship of $15K. In the end, he did not accept since UCD was still a better deal even with the scholarship. Best of luck to your son.
@Gumbymom: Sounds like you know a bit about UOP. If he uses their ex app does he still get til May to accept?
When my older son applied 5 years ago, he did have until May 1 to SIR. Not sure if anything has changed since then.
