I was just wondering how University of Toronto looks at an applicants senior year. I am taking Calculus BC, AP Physics C, AP US History Government and Politics, AP English Literature, and AP Statistics this year, but the AP exams are only in May after I have been accepted/rejected. I am planning to apply by November to the Mathematics and Physical science stream(2nd choice is social science).
Additionally, I was wondering if I have any chance of receiving scholarships(if I am admitted)
Hi! I’m also a current senior planning on applying from the US. Earlier, I emailed U of T asking about LORs and they said that they are generally not required and only need to be submitted if they specifically ask you for one. If you do submit one anyways, it won’t be considered in your application. This also applies to any other unrequired documents that are submitted.
Senior year is very important. U of T will require interim grades to be sent early February. Your admission won’t be confirmed until they have your final transcript.
The big scholarship for international students is the Lester B. Pearson scholarship. It’s a full 4 year scholarship with a stipend, so very valuable and very competitive. You must be nominated by your high school for it by the end of November. They recommend that your OUAC application is in by the beginning of November. Your application for the scholarship is due by January 15. https://www.future.utoronto.ca/content/lester-b-pearson-international-scholarship-program
