Erm, I haven’t seen any discussion thread about the Pearson scholarship for 2017-2018, so I think it’s good to start up one.

I’m working on answering the prompts and have completed 3 out of 5 essays. The self letter of reference totally makes me dumbfounded (lel)

Anyone has any idea how the whole piece of writing should look like? Is it supposed to be a complete recommendation letter that includes “Dear Admissions Committee,” “I have know this person yadah yadah,” and “sincerely, signed name”?? Or is it supposed to be an essay written about the applicant from a third perspective? I’m so confuzzled :-?

I wrote mine as if I was my teacher speaking about me. I believe I did start it with ‘To whom it may concern’. Good luck!

How many people generally apply for this scholarship - They only give 36 and people apply from the whole world, feels like we have no chance.

No, the decisions come out in April.

@essayhater Last year’s decisions came out in early April(they sent emails to those finalists at different times tho–some received their decisions one or two days earlier than others), so I assume it’d be the same this year.
