University of Toronto vs Northwestern University

which one is better in physics, Computer science and Economics and what are the main differences between the school on general (i.e: location, dorms, campus, weather, student life).

Northwestern University. Northwestern has Kellogg, http://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/
Computer science and McCormick has become really good since they’ve made amazing investments in hiring new professors who are highly qualified. Physics I’m not sure, but I’m sure it’s really good as well. Plus, many kids double major at Northwestern, so it should allow you to do it.

Also, Northwestern is located in the better part of Chicago. The campus is amazing, really beautiful, and the class sizes are small. They even have a lake and beaches on campus. Northwestern has a diverse community, and is definitely very happening. Everyone at NU brings with them a diverse background, which adds a lot to the NU community. In terms of weather, I think both UToronto and NU will get cold, but I think UToronto will be colder.

NU is actually in a suburb of Chicago while UToronto is in the middle of Toronto.

The biggest differences are that UToronto is a gigantic public with many commuter students while NU is a rich smaller private with a big endowment and UToronto is collegiate.

U of T is less personal IMO because of its size.

If you are Canadian Toronto is a lot cheaper. Even if American Toronto may be cheaper.

@TomSrOfBoston: Depends on whether someone qualifies for fin aid and how much they would get from NU.
