How to decide? Looking for a good social scene, not heavy partying but some, B+ student prefers small classes and getting to know professors. Interested in knowing what kind of student goes there.

Can’t comment as to the others, but Muhlenberg draws predominantly from PA, NJ, NY, tends to be white upper middle class, about 30% Jewish, strong theater/dance program draws a contingent of artsy students, also known for good premed program. I visited there with my D and my observation was it had a supportive nurturing environment. I can’t speak to social life but can say there is not terribly much to do in Allentown. Our small private school in the Philly suburbs usually sends several students there per year, often but not always for theater majors. Hope that helps!

I am a current student at Drew and really love the university. It’s a nice sized student body with a beautiful campus about 45 minutes away from NYC. The student body is diverse for a LAC, and there are a lot of different personalities. It is not consumed with a party scene, but if you want to find a party, it is not impossible. I have great interactions with my professors which led to dinners with famous poets, internship opportunities, study abroad trips, etc.

All of the school you listed are great. Muhlenberg is similar to Drew, and UVermont is much larger, yet in a very cool area. What areas of study are you interested in?

Not really sure, maybe psychology or sociology or business/economics. It’s mostly between Drew and UVM now. Any suggestions?

Like both schools, but can’t decide, psych, sociology or maybe business/economics. Any suggestions for how to decide wr feedback on schools would be great.

Thanks!!

Are you trying to make a decision about where to apply, or are you deciding which admissions offer to accept?

If it is the latter, have you visited the campuses? If not, do you have time to do that in the next two weeks?

Is there any difference in cost for you? Run the numbers through this calculator, and see if it clarifies things a bit: [FinAid | Calculators | Advanced Award Letter Comparison Tool](<a href=“Your Guide for College Financial Aid - Finaid”>Your Guide for College Financial Aid - Finaid)

My D considered many of those schools. She found Drew a little too small. She loved Muhlenberg but though Allentown, at least the commercial part near campus, was dreadful (strip-mall, Walmart, chain hell).

She chose Clark, which is where she’ll be next year. She visited twice, found the kids very friendly and social, but it doesn’t seem to be a maniac party scene. Funky but cool old city, access to Boston, consortium of colleges, small classes, and strong psych, poli sci, business, etc. Kids seem very engaged in learning and smart, but not high-stress achievers.
