Hello CC,
I am entering my sophomore year at Virginia Tech, and I am interested in transferring to UVA as a Junior.
I am eligible for in-state and I would be entering with 60 credits. I finished my first year with a 3.4 GPA while majoring in finance/accounting. I intend to get great grades (3.8-4.0) during my sophomore year. This should allow me to finish the first semester of sophomore year with around a 3.6 GPA.
My SAT was 1930.
My HS GPA was 3.7 W , 3.4UW
I did many extracurriculars In HS and in college. I was the captain of the varsity crew team at my high school for my junior and senior years, I was active with student government, and I had an internship during my senior year - among other things.
In college I became the treasurer of the debate team during my freshman year and I plan on joining the crew club this year.
I would most likey apply to the arts and sciences school. Just interested in hearing my chances & any advice for a hopeful transfer.
Greatly appreciate any chances/advice you can give!!
Bump. Really interested in hearing some opinions
bro honestly I think you have a great chance.
I think you’re likely to get in, especially if you can show an upward trend in grades at VT this year.
Id love to see some activity on this thread too.
Im attempting to transfer in w/ ~60 credits. High school grades were decent (3.4ish) considering I swam at the national level (outside the USA). Transferred to a prestigious boarding school in the US (dual citizen) halfway thru HS and was captain of the swim team there.
After grad, I went to a very expensive DC university for a year part time, but partied too hard and ended freshman year with a 2.4. In the two years since, I’ve done 2 professional internships while enrolled at NOVA w/ a 3.7. I work 30 hours a week now that my internships are done. I am hoping that my past success and the upward trend in my grades combined with strong essays will make me a qualified candidate.
Hey everyone! I transferred to UVA last fall, so if any of you have any questions about anything then please don’t hesitate to contact me. Good luck with finishing up and submitting your applications!
Can anyone tell me my chances.
I had a really bad Spring 2015 semester due to a death in my family so that is when I took my SAT and it was way way below normal. Also, I got 2 Cs that semester.
I started college at 14 and been at a community college since . My highschool gpa was a 3.7 I believe and I played sports and was captain. I also participated in many extra curricular activities including band. My college Gpa is a 3.56. I work and do different cancer shadowing opportunities. I’m part of the UVA graduate level cancer journal club. I volunteer and do premed internships at St.Jude during the summer . I’m on the deans list and part of an honors society.
UVA is my dream school and that is why I began college at a young age. I don’t want to go anywhere else because I know it wouldn’t be the same. I would do anything to get in but I am so nervous because I feel like my SAT score is going to scare them away. ugh so nervous!!!
@rower2345 I know this is an old thread but is there any update on what happened?
