University of Virginia

I am a Sophomore in High School looking to apply to UVA and I currently:

-Have a weighted GPA of 4.2.
-Am president of my class.
-Vice President of the schools Student Ambassador club.
-Vice President of the Earth Club.
-President of Key Club
-On the Varsity Golf team. (2 years)
-JV Soccer. (2 years)

  • Volunteer at the local Elementary School every Friday.
-Taken only 1 AP class (Euro), but plan on taking 3 next year (Econ, Lit, and US History)
  • Planning on interning at a local business this summer.

It is probably premature to put this up here seeing as I haven’t taken the ACT or SAT, but UVA is my dream school so I am very nervous already about applying.

Any suggestions for classes to take or organizations to join then that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Are you in-state or oos?
Other than that just make sure you get A’s in rigorous courses and you should be good!

Chance back?

I’m in state and thanks!

As you’re in-state, as long as your ACT is 31+ or SAT is 2050+ you should be fine. That being said, as there’s a 30% admit rate, have at least 3-4 other schools you like, can get into, and afford if worst should come to worst (ie George Mason, JMU, or VCU).

Take the most rigorous curriculum offered by your secondary school.
Excel at it.
Diligently prepare for your standardized examination.
And fundamentally keep doing just as you have.
