University of Washington Bioengineering program brutality

So I just researched UW’s bioeng website a bit. In total I saw that they had 54 total courses! This is compared to the 32 that you would normally take for any other non engineering major. Is this normal for Bioeng or is it a especially brutal program. How would you possibly finish this in 4 years? I also tried but could not find the number of BIOE degrees they gave compared to the number of people who started out with the program. Does anybody know this ratio? In general, for someone who wants to do this as a premed, is it a really bad idea to go for this specific program?

You dont take every class that the department offers.
