84% of the freshman class was in the top 10%

Average SAT score in 2005 was 1198/1600, average GPA 3.69

West Coast schools seem to have a very broad definition of the Top 10%.

Barrons - Those two lines are from different years, but you're right - the math is kind of a puzzle there!

It's a big puzzle up here in the NOrth wESt

LakeWashington,
Yea I thought so too. I'm not sure how much is superior, but I noticed they seem to be a bit reluctant in accepting students from wsu... some kind of rivalry or something?

Btw do you think it'll be easier to transfer from a community college? I wonder if I should go to a community coll. first before applying to UW...

damadcow,

A community college degree might be a good possibilty, but as I said, the UW severely restricted it's guranteed CC transfer policy a couple of years ago. Nevertheless, CCs in the Seattle area are quite good, particularly Bellevue CC. Speak to an admissions counselor at Bellevue, Seattle Central, or North Seattle CC.
