University Recruitment for Community Colleges?

<p>I currently joined the Track and Field for the spring of this year and i have a simple question..</p>

<p>Do Universities recruit Community College students which are good in a sport or..beat the current universities players by time? Or does this only work well for high school students?</p>

<p>I am not familiar with track & field, but I do know that swimmers get recruited from community colleges.</p>
