Unknown school?

So here's my problem.

I'm an international student from an English speaking country. Quite a few students from here venture to the top US institutions each year - in fact, there are some schools which act just as much as feeders as their American counterparts.

Problem is, my school's not one of them. That's not to say my school's not brilliant - to the contrary, we're almost invariably ranked well above every other school in the state in our final leaving exams. Many students top the state in subjects. We win a great proportion of national competitions, and more often than not we take the top prize in statewide pursuits. However, most students from my school don't apply to the US - they prefer to study prestigious courses such as medicine and law as undergraduates over here.

My question is, will this disadvantage me in any way? Keep in mind that my school is the hardest school in my state when it comes to attaining a good classroom rank (we usually have 50+ students ranked in the top 1% of the state...)

No, not a problem.

I came from a non-English speaking country, and I highly doubt that those officers ever heard of the city I came from. But I still got in great schools!

So I won’t say it will have a disadvantage.

Your name is schrodingerscat. You are so in to every school that you apply too.
