UNL Comp Sci - game design class/prof?

My son wants to pursue a BS in Computer Science, with the ability to take some classes and develop projects in game design and development. Based upon UNL's 25/75 numbers and its aggressive approach to financial aid, explicitly to attract high-scoring students from out of state, he's strongly considering the school. We know that Nebraska has a CS department, but are there any students or parents out there in CC who can tell us: does the program include game dev classes? If not, are there one or more CS professors there who might be up for starting to hold them there?

My son has already taken the initiative to not only taken the game des/dev class (and AP CS) at his school, but he's student teaching it next year and writing a game for the iTunes store that is playable in English and Japanese - and he started the Game Design Club at our large public high school, so he's willing to start new things if there's a professor at UNL who's up for it.

I can’t answer your specific question but I can say that IMO the CS program at UNL is better than others we investigated (I have SLO and USC in mind as I write this), in that UNL has a higher percentage of professors who are actually interested in teaching rather than focusing solely on research. I saw your S’s stats from other posts and maybe he should consider the Raikes School at UNL. I don’t know if a PSAT of 219 in your state would qualify him as a National Merit Finalist (in MA it wouldn’t but in Ohio it would), but FYI my S is at the Raikes School with a full ride. (With his NMF ranking he earned OOS tuition paid in full, plus book stipend, and the Raikes School provides a room & board scholarship). S is enjoying Raikes, and as a parent I think it is a great program. Unfortunately it doesn’t have name recognition, but hopefully that will change over time.
